“The Children of the Kiosk” is a short film that portrays the dreams and aspirations of children from a remote mountain village inspired by Paso del Norte, Chihuahua. Far from the city and with limited resources, these children find in their teacher a guide who helps them express their creativity and imagination.
Through real voices recorded from local children, the film captures the spirit and resilience of a community that, despite its isolation, radiates hope and the pure desire to dream. It is a tribute to the people of this small town and a reflection of the beauty found in simplicity and perseverance.
SYNOPSIS
In a small town, a group of children turns their daily routine into a space for discovery and wonder. Under the caring gaze of their teacher, they learn to recognize the power of their own desires the force that gives meaning to each day and drives them to dream beyond their surroundings.
The story follows Elena, a curious and brave girl who, together with her siblings and friends, finds in the town kiosk a refuge for imagination, creation, and sharing. Through games, laughter, and drawings, the children discover that dreams can become reality if they dare to believe in them.
The Kiosk Children is a poetic portrait of childhood, hope, and the transformative power of imagination a reminder that sometimes, all it takes is a pencil and an idea to change the course of a life.

The short film also incorporates real drawings created by the children of the village, giving authenticity and emotional depth to the story. These illustrations, full of innocence and imagination, became an essential part of the visual language of The Children of the Kiosk. By integrating their artwork into the film, the project not only celebrates their creativity but also pays tribute to their voices, dreams, and the unique way they perceive the world around them.
Making of
The making of The Children of the Kiosk involved a deep creative and cultural research process centered on the real community that inspired the story. The team visited the village to understand its environment, people, and everyday life, ensuring that every visual and narrative detail reflected its genuine essence. The production incorporated cheerful and cartoon-style illustrations influenced by the children’s original art, blending professional design with their spontaneous imagination. This creative process was carried out with the valuable support of the Technological University of Monterrey, whose collaboration helped bring the project to life as both an artistic and social tribute.
